April is Medicaid Awareness Month, and we want to continue to recognize how essential Medicaid is to our communities and caregivers across Georgia and the nation. 💙 📊 Over 30% of direct care workers rely on Medicaid for affordable health coverage. 📈 Direct care is one of the fastest-growing occupations, and Medicaid pays for the vast majority of this workforce. 🏥 Medicaid covers more than half of the $415 billion spent on long-term care in the U.S. Without Medicaid, our health system and caregivers would be in crisis. So why is Congress rushing to gut Medicaid to give more tax break to the ultra-rich? These cuts would terminate care for millions—while doing nothing to rein in corporate greed or make care more affordable. Now more than ever, we need tax policies that invest in the health of our communities, not billionaires’ and corporations’ bank accounts. Tell Congress: It’s time to put people over profit.
